Anunciados os Primeiros Vencedores do Llama Impact Grant e Llama Impact Innovation Award

Tecnologia Inovação Educação Saúde Meio Ambiente

Em outubro de 2023, foi lançado o programa inaugural Llama Impact Grants, buscando propostas inovadoras de todo o mundo que utilizassem modelos de IA de código aberto para enfrentar grandes desafios em educação, meio ambiente e inovação tecnológica. Hoje, foram anunciados os vencedores dos subsídios e dos prêmios Llama Impact Innovation Awards.

Os Llama Impact Grants foram concedidos a três organizações: Wadhwani AI, Digital Green em parceria com One Acre Fund, e o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, cada uma recebendo US$ 500.000. O projeto runner-up, Jacaranda Health, recebeu US$ 300.000. Esses projetos abordam desde a melhoria da fluência em inglês em escolas na Índia até a criação de um chatbot agrícola multilíngue para agricultores na África Subsaariana e uma plataforma de IA para combinar pacientes com câncer a ensaios clínicos nos EUA.

Os Llama Impact Innovation Awards foram destinados a organizações na África, Oriente Médio, Turquia, Ásia-Pacífico e América Latina, com prêmios de até US$ 35.000 e créditos de anúncios em espécie para apoiar seus trabalhos com Llama. Entre os vencedores estão a Universidade Mohamed bin Zayed de Inteligência Artificial, HelpMum, Comunidade de IA da Tanzânia, Flow Informatics, Factly Media and Research, AIM Intelligence, Netsafe, AiSee, Hiperderecho, Instituto de Inteligência Artificial na Saúde e Civica Digital.


- Universidade Mohamed bin Zayed de Inteligência Artificial: Sistema biomédico bilíngue para suporte médico virtual. - HelpMum: Chatbot para informações sobre vacinação e imunização. - Comunidade de IA da Tanzânia: Assistente virtual para professores. - Flow Informatics: Chatbot para informações sobre preços de alimentos e práticas agrícolas em Malawi. - Factly Media and Research: Chatbot de verificação de fatos. - AIM Intelligence: Projeto de segurança e ética em IA no contexto coreano. - Netsafe: Pipeline de dados para análise de danos online. - AiSee: Dispositivo assistivo para pessoas com deficiência visual. - Hiperderecho: Ferramenta para democratizar o acesso ao sistema legal peruano. - Instituto de Inteligência Artificial na Saúde: Projeto para automatizar resumos de alta hospitalar. - Civica Digital: Assistente de IA para navegação em procedimentos governamentais.


O compromisso com o código aberto e a expansão do acesso a organizações em todo o mundo são pilares do programa Llama. Em menos de um ano, o programa Llama Impact Grants evoluiu para incluir uma variedade de subsídios, prêmios, hackathons e programas de construção comunitária, demonstrando o potencial da IA para promover o progresso social e econômico. O futuro promete ainda mais inovações e impactos positivos impulsionados pela comunidade global.
