One person reading for you.
GenAI BR is a house of intelligence about AI: it reads the research and market frontier and hands back, in Portuguese and with sources, what changes a decision.
Written for the engineer who will put an agent into production on Tuesday, in Brazil. For whom, how, and why to trust it: the Method→
Manifesto
There has never been so much published about artificial intelligence, and it has never been so hard to know what matters. Every day brings dozens of papers, models, tools and laws. Most of it is noise. A small part changes what someone will build, buy or regulate in the coming months — and that part rarely comes with a warning.
GenAI BR exists to find that part. We do not train models, sell courses or run events. We read. A couple of hundred things a week, with a fixed method and a fixed question: does this change a builder's decision? Five survive. They go out every Tuesday, 7am, in Portuguese, each with the original source one click away.
We write in Portuguese by choice, not limitation. The public conversation about AI in Brazil is mostly made of hurried translation and unsourced opinion. A country that will regulate, buy and build AI needs its own reading of the frontier — and a place where the result comes before the opinion.
The house is small on purpose. One person reads, chooses and writes. One edition a week, the same format for years. It is what one person sustains without cheating, and it is what builds the reader's habit and the citer's trust. When the house grows, it will be to read deeper, not to publish more.
Everything we publish stays: each item becomes a permanent, dated entry in an archive by theme. Errors are corrected in plain sight. Conflicts are declared. The use of AI in the process is described in the Method, and would change there before changing anywhere else.
What the house makes
- Cinco
The weekly edition. One essay in five movements — charts, executed code, judgments and sources — every Tuesday at 7am. It is the product; everything else is born from it.
- Archive
The memory. Each entry becomes a permanent page across eight themes and three levels, with a glossary and reading trails. Nothing disappears.
- Intelligence
The market arm. Bespoke briefings today; a semi-annual Radar and an annual State of AI Brasil from 2027. It is how the house talks to companies.
Numbers
Counted from the published content, not typed by hand. They change with every edition.

Who makes it
Founder. Reads, chooses, writes — and codes the site.
GenAI BR is, today, one person in São Paulo. That is written everywhere because it is the most important fact about the house: you know exactly who read, who chose and who answers.
Besides Cinco, João builds Ofício, the house's agents product — where what the Archive documents about agents and evaluation becomes real operation. Each feeds the other: reading teaches what to build; building teaches what to read.

How this site was made
No choice by default. Every color, typeface and movement has a reason tied to what the house is. This section is the colophon: the decision log, and proof that it can be done differently. The full brand book — tokens, components, audit — lives in the site's repository; what it promises the reader is on the Method page.
- Cold paper
Slightly bluish white, like report paper. Not cream or beige: the warm tone became the default of the last generation of AI sites.
- Ink
Bluish black, like printing ink on cold paper. Never #000.
- Ink 2
For long body text and captions. Less contrast, more hours of reading.
- Mute
Metadata, dates, column numbers. The page's low voice — and still passes AA contrast.
- Rally blue
The only signature. A deep cobalt, of tiles and of rally cars — trust and data, far from the orange and purple AI uses. It appears rarely, which is why it counts.
A grotesque drawn for a Nordic newspaper group, digital-first: narrow, sharp, made for headlines and numbers. Heavy in titles, medium in labels, tabular figures in tables.
A reading serif with an optical size axis: the shapes change from 8 to 60 px. Always regular weight, slightly negative tracking, italic for kickers. Never a bold serif.
Two-ink covers
Every project and trail has a cover generated by a shader — two misregistered inks with halftone grain, like a riso print. One family only: rally blue and ink, on cold paper. Nothing is an image: it is (seed, hue) becoming texture live. Hover.
The honeycomb
The background is a single hexagonal mesh of particles — the honeycomb of a network — that reorganizes with the page: mesh on the cover, the word 'Cinco', the map of Brazil, a synapse. It lives on the right, away from the text, nearly invisible. The pointer paints: whatever it touches turns rally blue and stays, for a while.
- Rules, not cards
- Columns separated by 1px and 2px lines, like a printed page. 3px corners. No glass, no shadow, no gradient.
- Italic kicker, not mono label
- A section announces itself as in a newspaper, not a system dashboard.
- Texture, not glow
- Paper grain over everything, in multiply. Nothing glows; everything prints.
- Motion with restraint
- Line reveals and a light magnetism only on the main button. Hover is an underline that thickens or text turning blue — never scale. prefers-reduced-motion respected.
- Specific copy
- Dates in full, São Paulo time, the names of who makes it, non-round numbers. No 'unlock the power of'.
- One signature only
- Rally blue is the only color. It appears in active links, the mark's node, the pointer's ink, the edition number. Never as a whole section background.
- No trackers
- No third-party scripts. The only form asks for an e-mail and says where it goes.
- Charts the way a newspaper does them
- Bars always from zero, one scale per figure, direct labels, the table one click away. Three series at most — rally blue, ink, amber — and a context grey; amber exists only inside a chart. The promises are on the Method page.
Questions
- Is GenAI BR a company?
- It is a market-intelligence house about AI, today with one person. It earns from company briefings and, from 2027, from the Radar and State of AI Brasil. Reading Cinco is and will remain free.
- How do I cite an entry?
- 'GenAI BR, Cinco no. N, [entry title], [date]' with the entry link. The entry never changes address.
- Can I republish?
- Quotation with a link, always. Full republication — internal newsletter, intranet, class — write in; the answer is usually yes.
- Do you take pitches, sponsorship or paid content?
- Pitches with a primary source, yes, and welcome. Sponsorship of artifacts (Radar, State of AI) without editorial influence, yes, name on the cover. Paid content disguised as an entry, never.
- Why no comments?
- Because good conversation about technical AI happens with context — on LinkedIn, by e-mail, in a briefing. An open comment box produces the opposite.
- Will you grow?
- To read deeper, yes. To publish more, no. Five a week is the promise.
